This new show has a different format than the old show, with some exciting new concepts. Its main focus is giving show competitors three chances of qualifying to compete in the title classes, also providing Non- Registered Dressage classes on Friday and Sunday for Show horses, ponies and others to compete in as an incentive to try out dressage, likewise providing for our Dressage horses Showing Classes for them to experience Showing ie Riding Horses, Sport Horses/Warmblood and Paced and Mannered Classes.
The Showing classes will run outside in three rings on Friday 28th January between 8am and 2:30pm and indoors between 1:30pm and 10:00pm, with our prestigIous Melville Black Memorial Class being held at 4:30pm and the prestigious and ever popular Rebecca Peters Memorial Class at 7:30pm, both for Novice Horses and Ponies. On Saturday the 29th of January qualifying heats at 8am to 5:30pm outdoors, with the titles being held on Sunday the 30th of January from 8am to 6:30pm indoors.
Our Dressage will run outdoors on Friday the 28th of January and indoors from 8am to 1pm. All day Saturday the 29th of January indoors with displays and top level dressage competing at prime times. On Sunday outdoors the dressage will compete in three arenas all day.
All riders can be assured, if required the grounds will be watered, likewise the indoor arena has an improved central watering system with a new grooming machine so we will do our very best to provide all riders with the best possible surface to compete on.
Although the show has reduced to a three day show the outdoor and indoor arenas will be highly decorated to the same high level as shows previously run by us.

He has enjoyed success in hack classes at Brisbane, Sydney, Canberra, Adelaide and Melbourne Royal Shows, with Champion Hack awards included and he has also won at Horse of the Year Shows. Johns judging appointments have included Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney, Perth and Canberra Royals with adjudications in all Saddle and Riding Class sections. John has also been invited to judge at Horse of the Year Shows in all the mainland states, as well as officiating at the Northern Territory HOTY and EFA Nationals. John has previously judged in New Zealand and is looking forward to his return visit.
How the Show Qualifier works
This new concept to New Zealand is run with three rings. The Red Ring, The Black Ring and the White Ring. Each Class rotates around all three rings. Each ring has a different judge. Ribbons are awarded from Champion to Third in each ring.
Once you have won a Champion in any of the three rings with in that class you are competing in you can no longer compete in the remaining ring rotations in that class, as you have qualified for the NZ National Showcase title for that Class. example: The Lead Rein Pony who is Champion in the first ring rotation is out of the final two ring rotations, the Champion from the second ring rotation is out of the final ring rotation. YOU CAN ONLY SECURE ONE CHAMPION WITHIN THAT CLASS YOU ARE COMPETING IN AND THEN YOU CEASE FROM ANY FURTHER RING ROTATIONS WITHIN THAT CLASS UNTIL THE NZ NATIONAL SHOWCASE TITLE CLASS INDOORS.
THIS EXCITING NEW CONCEPT GIVES COMPETITORS 3 CHANCES TO WIN A CHAMPION TO QUALIFY FOR THE NZ NATIONAL SHOWCASE TITLE CLASSES IN THE INDOOR ARENA TO BE JUDGED BY ALL 3 JUDGES
