Kate Clutterbuck Thanks for the newsletter, I would just like to thank you for all the help I got when I fell off on the Saturday of the show, I have just come right. The Show was fantastic as always, thanks for the opportunity to compete and experience the indoor arena, sometimes more frightening for the riders than the horses.

Rosemary Wells I have just returned with the family from your absolutely fabulous show on the weekend. My daughter, Laurel Cross, entered only the dressage and so we had plenty of time to enjoy the show and what a show it was. Quite the best thing I have been to for a long time. Every class was special, all the riders had their chance to shine, and the winners were made to feel so special. The facilities were superb, the food was fabulous, the stabling and associated showers and toilets were first class and the after match entertainment was just the best, I just loved the Dream Girls. Your two announcers did an outstanding job keeping not only the spectators but the competitors up to the mark. This sort of professionalism is what is needed to re-energise our A & P Associations. Of course we were all horse people together having a great time, in ideal weather conditions, but I did just want to write and say how much our family appreciated the effort you and your team went to to make sure this was a highlight on the equestrian calendar. Well done on the quality of the show. The old Adage, if a jobs worth doing its worth doing well, certainly applies. I am sure everyone had the greatest of times, and if they didnt it was their own fault. A big thank you from our family for a superb show.

Kim and Madison Munro The Bailey Family, Andrea Heslop, friends, helpers and sponsors ....... We just wanted to write and say what an awesome time we had at the Grand National Show. The organisation and the way the show was run was a credit to you all. My daughter Madison learnt so much, her pony has just turned four and I am really pleased how well they did, they could have done with another 12 months or so together but all the same great experience for them both. Mrs Bailey, thank you for your encouragement with regards to Madison competing in the Open classes on the last day as I was about to pull her out, Madison loved being in the indoor arena and she was not at all put off when she didnt get anywhere, she was just happy to be there. We came home with a ribbon and a couple of rosettes and best of all an awesome photo taken by Darren Moore which is now framed and taking pride of place in the lounge. Madison said being at the show was better than a holiday in Australia .........not sure the judges would agree. So thank you for the opportunity and we look forward to next year.

| CONGRATULATIONS to the Bailey Family and Show committe to running yet another outstanding event. The organisation, the grounds, the weather was perfect. The "Journey of the Dressage Horse"on Saturday evening was very enjoyable and gave those who would not normally watch dressage a chance to see what it is all about. I loved being able to ride my musical in the main arena. It made it feel so "special". Thank you for the awesome prizes. All my life I have wanted to win a garland of flowers and finally I won, not one, but two. Plus 2 rugs and sponsors vouchers. My Husband and I will take a weekend in Christchurch so we can visit the Lone star, Carters and Garrards whose vouchers I was lucky to win. I mention the announcer Judy Hutton. | First, thank you for a very well run show. The Judge and her steward were very pleasant to be in the ring with. Having attended a number of shows over the last season it was also great to have fair and consistent judging where everyone got what they deserved without prejudice or favors. It was quite obvious that the show was run by showies 1/ prizes were great, arena a great size and it was nice to have lots going on such as the dressage and farriers competion. | ||

Tina Field- Horsetalk How exciting and what a great venue! I think its great to have the advanced dressage and musical classes in the evening, it provides us with something to look forward to watching, and to be able to relax and enjoy the art of dressage on a social level with an air of excitement ( a glass of wine or two tops it off perfectly). We used to do it regularly in the bigger competitions in Sydney and it was a real crowd pleaser!!!!. Thanks for instigating a great initiative, and Im looking forward to being able to take part in your wonderful show. The Journey of a Dressage horse evening was extremely well done, with complementry wine and nibbles handed out to the crowd another extra that you would get no where else than the NZ Grand National Show. Natasha First of all I just want to say I managed to catch a couple of days out at your show and I was most impressed it was a very laid back, well run show. Just have a question in regards to this years one, I watched the inhand standardbreds and thought this was very well represented will you be including a ridden section in your up-coming one? Soo and Mike Wells and Bazil ( aka Gluck Star MH) Once again a great show, you all work so hard but it pays off just the best show around. Bazil says thank you for his rug, he wore it several times at later events when it got chilly. I thought the garland sashes were just stunning this year with the flowers and V ribbons, so much work I know but didnt they look fabulous on the horses and such elegant colours too. Thank you very much. Karen Livingstone I would just like to say how sad I am that the Miniatures have been removed from your show. It was one of a ver select few that I was going to this year ( as I have every year ) because there is still a huge thrill in doing well there. I have one Grand National Title and was enjoying trying hard to make it a double with the same horse. It is a shame that a vocal few can ruin things for the rest, although I was aware that numbers had been decreasing, this is happening at a lot of shows where Miniatures are: although I had noticed a lot of new people at your show last year. I had no problem with the entry fee, your prize money was an excellent balance. I think if you dont like the conditions then just shut up and dont go and leave the show to the ones of us who are quite happy. Thank you for having included us in the past, my NZ Grand National title is still the one I treasure most and I am very disappointed I will never get to try for that double. Everyone who helped was delightful. I really enjoyed talking to some of the competitors. Most really seemed to want to know what we thought and better their chances in the ring. My winners were all lovely horses and could compete at a high level in Australia. The main thing I noticed was a large tail end to the classes. I think if competitors keep their minds open and look and learn from the top horses and riders they can really better their chances and make your competition of a higher overall standard. I did find you competitors very polite and a pleasure to judge. I would also like to thank my stewards, Stewart and Debbie who both did a wonderful job and made my job easier.
