Comment from 2010 Show Judges May I take this opportunity on behalf of myself, my wife and Mrs Leanne Bordin to humbly thank the organinising committee for thier invitation to have us judge the 2010 Grand National Championships. We thoroughly enjoyed the 5 days and nights judging the fine exhibits Zealand presented before us. Our congratulations to the hard working organising committee, it was in our opinion a exceptionally well organised and well run event, beautifully presented and a total pleasure to judge. The hospitality shown to us Australians by the Zealanders was second to none, thank you all. Finally may I extend our congratulations to the exhibitors and breeders who presented the many fine exhibits before us over the 5 days and nights and gracefully accepted our personal opinion.
Garry & Joanne Robson & Leanne Bordin 2010 Judges

RIDE TO YOUR OWN MUSIC AND WORKOUT IN THE NZ GRAND NATIONAL TITLE CLASSES FOR OPEN HACKS, OPEN PARK HACKS, OPEN SADDLE HUNTER HACKS, OPEN GALLOWAYS, OPEN PONIES UP TO 128CM, UP TO 138CM AND UP TO 148CM, AND OPEN SADDLE HUNTER PONIES In the above title classes only, competitors are asked to record their own music onto a CD that is playable in the shows CD player. CDs will be tested in the CD player to make sure they work if competitors have them to the Secretary the day prior to the class being held. CDs are to be labeled with your name and class number. CDs must be with the secretary no later than 2 hours prior to the class commencing. You are to design your own workout no longer than 2 minutes ( a bell will ring 20 seconds before 2 minutes is up and the judge will cease judging at 2 minutes). The judge will inspected your mount prior to you commencing your workout so you will be asked to come forward and halt in front of them. The Ring Steward will then confirm you are ready to start your workout and they will signal to have your music started. Workout must include: All 3 paces on both reins with at least 2 canter changes, lengthen trot and lengthen canter ( Saddle Hunter Hacks and Ponies to be a gallop) . We point out that these are conformation showing classes not Musical Dressage classes and music choice is not being judged. For those competitors who do not supply a music CD you are still able to compete as the show will play music during your workout but you must design your own 2 minute workout. The judge will be positioned mid way along the long side ( with back to the mirrors) to the right of the entrance door of the arena. Horses will be lined up with their backs to the wall along the short side where the entrance door is. The area that you will be given to carry out your workouts in will be 65 meters long by 35 meters wide. CATALOGUE SHOW BAGS Competitors who purchase a pre paid catalogue at the time of their entries, the first 200 who pick up their catalogue up from the Show Secretary will receive a Show bag with sponsors products, Show information and all sorts of goodies in it. IF ANYONE WOULD LIKE TO CONTRIBUTE SOMETHING TOWARDS THESE CATALOGUE SHOW BAGS PLEASE CONTACT DENIS BAILEY PH 033149019
